Albeit late (

), here is my next series in my take and observations on Guild Leadership: recruitment.
The First Thing you have to ask your self: Are you recruiting the masses or recruiting to satisfy your goals?
I briefly touched upon this in my first article.
Starting a guild is easy in three situations:
- New game.
- New server. or....
- Established guild branching off (either through merger or rebranding).
All 3 of these will apply once Star Wars: The Old Republic hits the streets. In fact, they apply now as well. Guilds are starting to branch up on the various fan sites and even on the official forums. Over time, it will not be so easy to start a guild unless you have a few friends. So, what do you do?
The end state of recruiting is to get bodies into your guild. What should be important to you is the means with which you go about doing it. This is what is going to determine the overal success of your guild. Do you want to raid? Do you want to be social? Do you just want to be large? Think about these things. I would even recommend writing them down ala "life planner" style if you are that serious on wanting to be a successful guild leader.
As I said, it is much easier to form a guild and recruit from day one. You are reaching into a big, uncommitted player base where you will more than likely find other like players.
