Honestly, I think it is perfect just the way it is.
I like how everything you need to see in combat is located at the bottom of the screen in a way that makes sense and then the secondary info like Quest Status and Chat/Combat Logs are up top and out of the way.

I like how it's unique in it's own way. I really think Bioware is doing everything it can to separate itself from Blizzard in order to make SWTOR the next big thing. I am all for that and in the end, it just makes a better game for us in my humble opion.

Have you guys noticed the cooldown timer implementaition from the DOC 3 vid? Seems pretty dynamic and usable - very easy on the eyes in terms of being able to pick out. One thing else I noticed was the target window on the lower right has a range indicator. Maybe huge trooper shots are long range attacks, etc.

A pretty good breakdown of the UI can be found on the new post at Star Wars: The Old Republic Blog It's worth a visit.

The UI looks good so far. I enjoy an interface that I can customize, and I'm sure you'll be able to do this in TOR, just like any other MMO.
I am surprised with where your character information (health bar, etc). Instead of the standard top left corner, they have it at the bottom middle. It looks as though it works. Can't wait to truly try it out.

Yeah. You can tell they've made a huge effort to make the UI unique. I think it looks good.

Personally I think it's an ugly UI, but hopefully it'll A. be customizable or B. they change it up a little.

Yeah, these things usually change dramatically by games release, then of course during the lifespan of the game.
