While lurking through the web, I came across a forum where some people were discussing some features they wanted to see in SWTOR. One guy mentioned that it would be pretty awesome if characters can create/pass bounties on in-game characters. I immediately fell in love with the idea since it could be implemented in the Star Wars Universe so easily. This feature wouldn't not be exclusively to Bounty Hunters but to every class if they so decided. The rewards could be money or rare equipment for the people who are able to complete the bounty. This might have come up already in this forum, but any thoughts/ideas on this? It could make PvP AMAZING. Ex. This Sith Warrior (insert intimidating name) is constantly killing (camping lol) me. I got 500 credits to the person who brings me his head. There are alot of possibilities!
bounties was the main xp and leveling feature for the bounty hunter class in star wars galaxies. Mainly verses NPC's. it was quite good but turned into a grind as it was very repetative. go find person x for y credits. you;d accept the mission and then send your probe droid into orbit and a few min later you't have your location. either jump on a transport or ur speeder bike depending how close you were. get to the location scout around for abit then kill the bugger. they later added player bounties but it was open to the previously mentioned ganking. if they found a way to make it not so repetative it would be a good feature even if it was for BH's only. I'd be open to a similar smuggling type mission for smugglers only.
Maybe make it like with what they done in Aion (of anyone ever tried it) - If a player was in the enemies territory and were killing alot of folk, they got, well basically a bounty put on them so that everyone in that particular zone could see exactly where there were.
Or could even just lift the bounty system from Red Dead Redemption..
Can't see many good points about being able to put bounty's on anyones head at will..
The idea of bounties it awesome. The ganking aspect can be avoided by making it exponentially more expensive each time you want to put a bounty on someone within a certain period of time.
There needs to be something beneficial to the person who gets the bounty put on them. For instance, if I had a bounty put on my head and I kill the bounty hunter trying to kill me, than I get cake and prizes.
Yes, I've very aware of that fact, but as MMO's go, I'm sure it had the best anti-griefing measures in place, compared to any other MMO, who do nothing about it.
